5 Ways To Bond With Your Baby This Spring

5 Ways To Bond With Your Baby This Spring

As a new mother I was itching to get out of the house from being pregnant during long winter months but I also wanted to make sure I was doing something safe and low key. Here are 5 of my favorite ways to bond with a spring newborn baby at home and away from home.

Visit a shaded park

A park full of trees and flowers is a wonderful way to stimulate your baby and introduce them to nature. Shaded parks are a great way for you to enjoy the warmth of the season while also protecting their delicate skin.

Enjoy a local Botanical Garden

Botanical gardens are another relaxing but rewarding way to spend time with your little baby. Going during off days is a great way to keep away from crowds so you can enjoy time together while also protecting their  immune systems.

Go for a drive

Taking a drive is one of my favorite past times when I'm not really comfortable taking our baby anywhere in the public. One of my favorite memories was with our 1st daughter. Sometimes I would sit in the back with her as we drove around and I just watched her and touched her hands while my husband and I talked about our dreams driving down the country roads.

Let some air in during tummy time

Tummy time is an important thing to do for small babies to gain strength and mobility. Giving them fresh air even inside the home is just as important. When the air is warm enough I love opening up the windows, turning on some relaxing music and getting down on the floor with my baby. It's a great way to enjoy the newness of spring in the safety of your own home.

Enjoy a Sunset on the porch

I am blessed that the sun sets on the side of my porch so we get to watch the colors change and enjoy the glow as it descends. But even if you can't see it you can still enjoy waiting for the sun to go down, rocking your baby close to your chest as the day begins to quiet down. It's a great way to end your day breathing easy so you can settle into the night.

Motherhood comes with so many challenges but my hope is that these examples help remind you to take time to just rest and be with your baby. Enjoy your spring!
